Whole House Water Filters Melbourne
Cleaner Water at Every Tap in Your Home
At Vic Water Filters, whole house filtration treats every tap in your home — kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and outdoor taps — right where mains water enters your property. Instead of fitting a single filter under one sink, a whole house system sits in-line with your incoming water supply, reducing chlorine, sediment, rust, and everyday chemical taste before water reaches any tap, shower, washing machine, or hot water service.
Why Melbourne Homes Need Whole House Filtration
Melbourne’s mains water is treated with chlorine, and at times chloramine, to keep it safe over long distances, while homes on tank water or in older suburbs can also pick up sediment, rust, or mineral scale from ageing pipework. A whole house filter deals with both issues in one step, protecting appliances, hot water systems, and plumbing fittings from scale and grit build-up while giving every tap in the house cleaner, better-tasting water.
How Our Whole House Systems Work
Our systems use a staged filtration process — typically a sediment pre-filter followed by carbon filtration — to strip out grit, chlorine, and organic compounds while leaving beneficial minerals in place. Each system is sized to suit typical Melbourne household demand, so water pressure and flow rate stay consistent even when several taps are running at once.
Installation, Maintenance & Support
Installation is carried out by our local team, who fit the unit where water enters your home and check your existing plumbing, pressure, and shut-off valves as part of the job. Most installations are completed in a single visit, and we’ll talk you through cartridge replacement schedules — generally every 12 to 18 months, depending on water use and quality — so your system keeps performing at its best.
Compare Our Whole House Systems
We currently offer two whole house systems: the Classic 3-Stage Whole House System ($3,149) and the Premium 3-Stage Whole House System ($3,499), both built around the same sediment, carbon, and reduction-stage filtration approach, with the Premium model adding extra filtration capacity for larger households. Browse both systems below, or get in touch and we’ll help you choose the right fit for your home.
Certifications & Compliance
Our whole-house systems are supplied by AquaCo, whose Big Blue-series whole-house filter housings (the basis of our Classic and Premium 3-Stage systems) hold active WaterMark Licence 023448 on the official WaterMark Product Database, and are NSF certified to NSF/ANSI 42 (Aesthetic Effects) and NSF/ANSI 61 (Health Effects) on the NSF International listing. That means every whole-house system we supply and install meets the compliance standards required for connection to Victorian mains water.

PFAS (“Forever Chemicals”) Reduction
Our Premium 3-Stage Whole House System uses AquaCo’s Disruptor® filtration stage to specifically target PFAS (“forever chemicals”), in addition to sediment, chlorine, and chloramines. Per AquaCo’s published, independently tested performance data, the Disruptor® stage reduces over 97.6% of PFOA and over 99.0% of PFOS, tested using US EPA Method 537. This stage sits alongside the same NSF and WaterMark certified housings referenced above, so PFAS reduction is built into the certified system rather than an unverified add-on claim.
